On Wednesday, October 11, our staff and students will be participating in our very own Terry Fox Walk/Run. The students will be walking around our school/or neighborhood in honor of Terry Fox with the hope of keeping his dream alive while raising funds for cancer research. Primary teachers will walk their students around the perimeter of the school. Older grades will walk our neighborhood (at the teacher’s discretion) approximately 1 km in length. Information about this Canadian Hero will be circulated to the individual classes and students will be given an opportunity to learn about Terry Fox and the services performed by the Terry Fox Foundation, while at the same time promoting exercise as an important part of a healthy lifestyle.
